Pieve Santa Restituta
Rennina Brunello di Montalcino DOP
The name originates etymologically from the Latin word Remnius and the Etruscan word Remne indicating the name given to the parish-owned land, as mentioned in a document dating back to 715 A.D.
Three non-adjacent vineyards surrounding the parish church, in an area called Rennina in ancient times. The south-west facing soil dates back to the Eocene age and mainly consists of sand, tuff and clay. The vines are 25 years old on average. Clay and limestone, with the presence of galestro (a rocky, schistous clay soil).

This classic Brunello displays a light ruby-red color. The nose is herbal as evidenced by the Mediterranean scrub notes of thyme and rosemary along with a hint of balsamic, which opens to red berry aromas of cherry and plum. There are hints of pine resin and sweet notes of vanilla bean. The palate shows a balance of acidity and fruit with sweet, enveloping tannins that will ripen over time. This wine drinks beautifully now but will reward those who chose to age it.

"A complex and minerally wine with aromas of crushed stones, graphite, red cherries, licorice, dried flowers and aromatic herbs. Full-bodied, tense and crisp on the palate, with firm, velvety tannins and a juicy, chalky yet ripe finish with fruity and gamy flavors. Best from 2028."
