Pieve Santa Restituta
Rennina Brunello di Montalcino DOP
The name originates etymologically from the Latin word Remnius and the Etruscan word Remne indicating the name given to the parish-owned land, as mentioned in a document dating back to 715 A.D.
Three non-adjacent vineyards surrounding the parish church, in an area called Rennina in ancient times. The south-west facing soil dates back to the Eocene age and mainly consists of sand, tuff and clay. The vines are 25 years old on average. Clay and limestone, with the presence of galestro (a rocky, schistous clay soil).

Refined aromatics of flint and chalk lift sweet notes of flowers, honey, and propolis, with subtle spice and marasca cherry/red berry fruit. The palate is elegant and compact, dense and savory, with bright acidity and layers of balsamic tones, herbs, and potpourri. Long, straight, refined tannins add verticality, leading to a long, harmonious finish defined by grace and precision.

"A complex and minerally wine with aromas of crushed stones, graphite, red cherries, licorice, dried flowers and aromatic herbs. Full-bodied, tense and crisp on the palate, with firm, velvety tannins and a juicy, chalky yet ripe finish with fruity and gamy flavors. Best from 2028."
