Arista Winery
Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
The Russian River Valley blend represents the unique characteristics of the appellation that set it apart from other growing regions. The wine is assembled using select lots from Arista’s Westside Road Estate Vineyard as well as selections from the Toboni, Lucky Well, and Mononi Vineyards. No de-classified wine or “filler” vineyards are used for this appellation blend. Instead, this wine is viewed as a tete-de-cuveé blend of single vineyard and estate wines and is an excellent survey of the vintage and appellation each year.
The Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of barrels from iconic Russian River Valley vineyards: Toboni, Lucky Well, Mononi and Arista’s Estate Vineyard. A wine that brings together the elements of clonel selection, ideal growing conditions, and unique terroir to produce a wine that demonstrates the full potential of the Russian River Valley,

Blue and red fruits predominate on the nose, but the presence of a lavender inflected floral component is unmistakable. There is great tension and texture on the palate, with fine grained tannins supporting flavors of fresh pomegranate and tangy wild blackberry. A hint of cola on the long finish speaks to the quality of this vintage, where warm sunny days and cool nights gave rise to perfect ripeness balanced by a gentle yet refreshing acidity.

"The 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is a blend of fruit from Arista’s seven vineyard-designate wines. It has pretty aromas of blackberry, blueberry, plum, licorice and turned earth. The medium-bodied palate offers layered, spicy flavors structured by finely astringent tannins and bright acidity, and it has a long, fragrant finish."
