Elena Walch
Schiava Alto Adige DOC
This ancient indigenous red grape variety has flourished in
Alto Adige since the sixteenth century, and its cultivation
is expanding steadily. Despite a significant reduction in
planted acreage in recent decades, this has paradoxically
led to an enhancement in the quality of Schiava wines,
sparking a contemporary renaissance for this esteemed
grape. In the case of Elena Walch this is no exception as this
wine delivers beautiful floral tones and balance that takes
you right to the heart of their mountain estate.
Vintage Factsheets
Diverse calcareous soils at medium altitude make up the sites for this wine, where the grapes can benefit most from the Mediterranean climate with warm summer days combined with cool mountain nights.

Bright ruby in color with a delicate hint of cherry on the nose. On the palate, it is harmonious and elegant due to naturally mild acidity and tannin with a pleasant bitter almond flavor on the finish. An elegant, fruity red wine with good lengths.

"This juicy, light-bodied red waltzes across the palate, displaying flavors of wild cherry, mulberry and plum skin. Bright and integrated, with pretty aromatics of mountain herbs, lavender, anise and sweet smoke accenting the core of fruit and lingering on the finish."
