Tenuta Sette Cieli
Scipio Toscana IGT
Scipio (pronounced skeep-e-oh) is named after the legendary Roman general and statesman, Publius Cornelius Scipio, who played a pivotal role in the defeat of Hannibal at the Battle of Zama in 202 BC, securing Rome's dominance in the Second Punic War. Just as Scipio's victory symbolized strength and excellence, this wine represents the pinnacle of winemaking from the estate. Made from 100% Cabernet Franc, Scipio is crafted only in the finest vintages, when the conditions are perfect for this exceptional grape to reach its full potential. The wine showcases the very best qualities of Cabernet Franc, with rich, concentrated flavors and a refined, balanced structure.
Tenuta Sette Cieli is located on hillside vineyards at 400 meters above sea level, nestled in the lush woods of Monteverdi Marittimo, between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, with views overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The estate spans 84 hectares of which 10 hectares under vine, planted in 2001-2002 and 2016. The soil is medium-textured, rich in clay, limestone, and stones, providing optimal conditions for vine growth and the production of exceptional wines.

A rich, deep and complex wine that interprets what was a particularly warm and sunny year. The taste reveals a great balance due to a high natural acidity that gives a pleasant freshness and firmness.
James Suckling
94 Points
"Beautiful and layered, offering ripe dark berries of an al dente character, cedar, spices and touches of graphite. Full-bodied but not heavy, broad and steady on the palate with firm chalky tannins providing structure and length. Long, focused and lightly chewy at the end. Drink or hold."
