GAJA
Sorì Tildìn Barbaresco DOP
In the local dialect, Sorì refers to the hillside facing south, while Tildin was the diminutive of Clotilde (Angelo Gaja’s grandmother).
The Sorì Tildìn single vineyard is situated on top of a hill in Barbaresco, just above Costa Russi. The south/ southwestern exposure and its amphitheater shape ensure maximum sunshine.

In Sorì Tildìn elegance and complexity find their greatest balance. The refined and unique character of Nebbiolo perfectly match with the pedoclimatic conditions, thus expressing a nose full of complex and mineral notes. It is a multidimensional wine, rich in the mouth with a dense structure. High ageing potential.

"Stepping up in structure and intensity compared to the Costa Russi, the Gaja 2022 Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn exhibits broad shoulders and depth. It delivers a dark fruit character surrounded by hints of campfire ash and crushed mineral. There is always a vein of ferrous mineral in this wine, and you definitely get it in this vintage. It comes with pretty background aromas of sambuca, aniseed and spicy ginger. The tannins are superbly managed to offer finesse and firmness."
