Sorì Tildìn Barbaresco DOP
In the local dialect, Sorì refers to the hillside facing south, while Tildin was the diminutive of Clotilde (Angelo Gaja’s grandmother).
The Sorì Tildìn single vineyard is situated on top of a hill in Barbaresco, just above Costa Russi. The south/ southwestern exposure and its amphitheater shape ensure maximum sunshine.

Complex, fragrant, and sweet notes of sandalwood, cinnamon, violet, and enticing red fruit, particularly strawberry. The aromas are confirmed on the palate, where it is full and elegant, very generous and voluminous, with enveloping and succulent tannins.

"Leaping from the glass with energy, the 2023 Barbaresco Sorì Tildin pours a jeweled ruby color and shows remarkable depth and clarity. A small percentage of barrique is used, yet the wine retains striking purity with notes of framboise, pressed flowers, and polished stones. There is a seductive quality here that almost recalls a great Burgundy in its elegance and texture. The tannins are sweet and refined, and the wine is dangerously easy to drink despite its complexity and depth. Mouthwatering and exceptionally long, drink 2026-2058. 2,900 bottles were produced."

"Returning to a more traditional expression of site, the 2023 Barbaresco Sorì San Lorenzo shows the classic character of this vineyard. Medium-bodied, it offers notes of juniper, currants, cranberries, and brambly earth. The tannins have deeper structure and density compared to the other crus, giving the wine impressive backbone and longevity while retaining balance and freshness. Drink 2027-2057."
