Val di Suga
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Vigna Spuntali
Val di Suga’s Spuntali is one of the oldest Brunellos crafted under the concept of single-vineyard wines. Sourced from the Spuntali vineyard, it embodies the unique characteristics of its sandy soils and Mediterranean climate. The site’s ideal conditions allow Sangiovese to ripen exceptionally well, reaching remarkable levels of generosity. The wine reflects the purity of the land, showcasing the vineyard's ability to produce wines of depth, balance, and notable expression. With a deep connection to the terroir, Spuntali highlights the full potential of Montalcino’s renowned growing environment.
Val di Suga’s Spuntali vineyard covers 15 hectares at an elevation of 300 meters above sea level. The soils, rich in sands from degraded Pietraforte stone, ensure excellent drainage and promote grape concentration. The vineyard is planted with over 30-year-old vines, which produce grapes with depth and complexity. This combination of altitude, soil, and mature vines creates a perfect microclimate for Sangiovese Grosso, resulting in a wine that beautifully reflects the unique terroir of Montalcino with balance and elegance.

On the nose it shows combination of candied orange note with spices and Mediterranean herbs (thyme mint rosemary). The palate shows supple fruit wrapped tannins with creamy long savory texture.

"Sporting a saturated red hue, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna Spuntali is spiced and layered on the nose, with dried cherries, strawberries, olive, anise, cedar, and menthol, leaning into a more Mediterranean profile in this vintage. The palate is medium to full-bodied and generous, with sweet tannins, zesty freshness, and mouthwatering salinity that builds through the long finish. It has terrific depth while staying energetic and is one of the richer expressions of the estate. Drink 2026-2040."

"Sweet strawberries with plums and fine spices. Medium body with rich flavors and firm, fine-grained tannins. Ripe, but also fresh and juicy, with very good balance, structure and length. Drinkable already, but better with two more years."
