  • Introduction

    • In 2005, the Torres family decided to open a winery in the town of Labastida, in the very heart of the Rioja Alavesa region. Torres was well aware of the region’s winegrowing potential, which allows for the production of high-quality wines that display remarkable personality and mature beautifully. Altos Ibéricos is named after Alto Otero, the beautiful enclave that is home to the winery.

    • A very early harvest characterized by good climate conditions that contributed to excellent vine health throughout the cycle, free from pests and serious disease. Ideal weather in September led to optimal well-balanced fruit.

  • Vinification

    • Fermentation: In stainless steel under controlled temperature for approximately 1 week
    • Maceration: 15-18 days
    • Barrel Aging: 18 months in French oak, partially new
    • Bottle Aging: 18 months minimum bottle aging before release

  • Tasting Notes

    • Dark ruby red color with lovely pigment. Intense aromas of red forest fruits like raspberry and cherry jam with licorice complimented by toasty notes. Velvety on the palate, with exquisitely fine-grained, smooth tannins, beautifully matured in both oak and bottle.
