Chêne Bleu
Héloïse, Vin de Pays du Vaucluse — 2015

“Its ruby/plum hue is followed by a gorgeous nose of red and black fruits, smoked meat, bay leaf, herbes de Provence, camphor, and sandalwood-like nuances. I love its complexity, it's medium to full-bodied, and it has a seamless mouthfeel and ultra-fine tannins. It's another remarkable wine from this brilliant team that I wish every reader could taste. It's drinking perfectly today yet will evolve nicely over the coming decade.”

"A late-release wine that benefits from bottle age. Seductive and impressively complex, with savory character from chamomile, truffle and warm earth flavors accented by lime oil, honeycomb, spiced apple and pastry crust elements. Builds in concentration and tension with time in the glass. A truly stunning wine in its prime now."

“Earthy and sanguine, with steeped plum and sappy cherry lined with forest floor, smoked bacon fat and sweet oak spices. Medium-bodied and silky on the palate, this is showing evolution, with good pedigree and sense of place.”

“A beautiful red, with a true terroir imprint. Shows salty black licorice and tapenade that infuse a base of rich cherry ganache, pepper and anise. Round and rich, this still has a lot of structure and impressive depth, with cashmere tannins softened by time.”

'"The 2022 Rosé Vaucluse is pale pink with orange hues in the glass. The bouquet slowly forms, showing savory herbs, crushed stone and tomato leaf. Further coaxing brings forward young peach and lemon oils. This envelops the palate with ripe pit fruits and sweet spice hints. A crunchy sensation appears as saline minerals collect toward the close. The 2022 finishes perfumed and light on its feet. Ripe melon notes bring the taster back to the glass."

“Distinctive and compelling, with green fig, ripe honeydew, peach and floral details underscored by umami, earth and a hint of brioche. Fleshy and plump on the palate, with a thread of smoke and wet flint adding savory details, along with green herbs and a salty vein of mineral.”

Shaded by accents of autumn leaves, caramelized balsamic and nutmeg but retains a penetrating core of blackberry and black-plum flavors. Cut with shards of limestone and salt, this invigorating, peppery wine finishes long on fine, feathery tannins and a murmur of leather.

Stunning complexity, length and intention. Fresh cedary spice weaves through fleshy peach fruit; granite dust through wild cherries; lavender through nectarines. It’s full yet fine, unfurling into every corner of the palate, saturated with stony minerality and sweet bitters. On the finish, a very subtle salty alpine-strawberry sherbet buzz. Up there as one of the beautiful rosés I’ve tasted.

Hints of smoke and crushed granite on the nose accent zesty raspberry and strawberry on the palate of this dry, Grenache-dominant rosé. just a hint pink in color, it's a vibrantly mineral, thirst-quenching sip that begs for beach side picnics.

Really lovely and alluring, with buttered brioche, creamed yellow apple, verbena and melon notes swirling around together. A salted butter detail drapes the finish, which has underlying zip and a floral edge for balance.

Bright salmon skin. Powerful, mineral-accented nectarine, raspberry, and melon scents complemented by citrus pith and floral nuances. Vibrant red berry, blood orange, nectarine and candied lavender flavors possess impressive depth as well as energy. Shows strong tension and repeating mineral character on the long, gently chewy finish, which leaves a floral note behind.

Pale orange-pink. Mineral-tinged red berry, honeydew and pit fruit aromas show excellent clarity, and a suave floral note emerges as the wine opens. Palate-staining peach nectar, raspberry and melon flavors are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. The mineral quality resonates on an impressively persistent finish that features a lingering floral quality and a hint of tarragon.

Watermelon. It's a full-bodied rosé, but there's good freshness. Touch of tangerine on the finish. Good acidity - well balanced, gastronomic rosé.

Thirty- and 40-year-old vines grown on stony clay and limestone soil in the south of France produced this marvelous blend of 85% Grenache Noir and 15% Syrah, which spent 18 months in French oak and two years in bottle. A perfume of lilac and licorice exudes from the glass. The deep and dark palate is beautifully assembled, with velvet-lined tannins, dried heather, black cherry, and winsome notes of peppered plum.

This offers up a deep well of warm, crushed plum, açai and blackberry fruit flavors that glide over hints of loam, sage and menthol, all backed by a lingering licorice root note on the fleshy finish. Distinctive. Syrah, Grenache, and Roussanne. Drink now through 2025.

Rich and broad in feel, with a lightly roasted edge to the mix of crushed plum, blackberry and raspberry fruit. Garrugue, singed alder and warm stone notes emerge steadily through the still-grippy finish. Grenache and Syrah. Drink now through 2024.
