Novello. Deep ruby with orange tinges. Deeper and a little richer on the nose than the 2013 Cascina Nuova. Beautiful depth with spice notes. Huge structure, yet polished and fine. This will need plenty of time. (WS)

The 2017 Dolcetto d'Alba Mandorlo is a generous, luscious, sweet and fruit-forward wine. It is teeming with ripe blackberry and sweet spice, yet there is also a very attractive tone of new leather, like when you buy a new pair of designer shoes. It should be noted that this wine only sees stainless steel, so those savory flavors come from the grape itself...

The 2017 Langhe Nascetta del Comune di Novello Anas-Cëtta is fermented and aged on the lees in stainless steel. The creaminess you taste here comes thanks to the natural characteristics of the grape and that 180-day sur lie aging. This is a fresh, lean- to medium-bodied white with pretty aromas of stone fruit, melon and Golden Delicious apple.

A white with a pretty cooked-apple and vanilla character to it. Medium to full body, a lightly oily palate and a flavorful finish. Made from nascetta. Drink now.
