Ravera Barolo DOCG – 2014

95 Points

The fruit and depth of this wine is very pretty. With brightness and transparency. Plums, and cherries with dried flowers and spices. Medium to full body, bright fruit and acidity. A powerful finish. A fantastic 2014. Drink in 2020.

Extremely perfumed and fresh with roses, lilac, cherries and hints of strawberries. Medium body, bright acidity and tangy, lively finish. Love the finish on this. Drink now or hold. But it's so good to drink now.

The Wine Advocate

The Ravera cru of Novello is quietly growing in prestige and consistency. It is becoming one of the latest additions to an elite list of grand cru sites in the Barolo appellation. That quality is demonstrated in a difficult vintage such as this. The

Bricco dei Merli Barbera d’Alba DOC – 2016

The Wine Advocate
91 Points

The 2016 Barbera d'Alba Bricco dei Merli is a beautiful rendition with a soft and sensual disposition. The mouthfeel of this vintage is noticeably smoother. The tannins and the acidity are hardly evident because they are so neatly folded into the rich texture of this first-rate Barbera. You are aware of, but only in a peripheral way, the freshness and the structure inherent to this Barbera. Dark fruit, candied cherry and exotic spice distinguish the bouquet. Some 10,000 bottles were made of the well-priced red.

"Pure cherry and strawberry fruit graces this delicate Barolo. Elements of licorice, tar and mineral add complexity and there is adequate structure. Still, this should be approachable early for the light weight and balance. Best from 2021 through 203
