The 2019 Rosé di Adele from Feudo Montoni lifts from the glass with a pretty yet understated bouquet, showing sweet florals with hints of mint leaf, ripe apple, and gingery spice. On the palate, soft textures are offset by zesty acids and saline-minerals, as its fruit leans more toward ripe melon and sweet herbs. The finish is medium in length, yet mouthwatering and just begging me to take another sip. This is yet another Nerello Mascalese Rosato that’s truly worth the hunt.

The NV Passito Bianco (in a 375-milliliter bottle) shows an orange-golden color with lots of dried apricot and orange skin. This wine raises the bar on the intensity level of a Sicilian sweet wine, and despite all that dried and candied fruit, you also get a touch of dried herb or rosemary essence along with toasted almond and Sicilian orange.

Juicy and savory, this has aromas evoking black-skinned berry, crushed mint, carob and a hint of Mediterranean brush. On the linear, taut palate, dusty tannins accompany juicy blackberry, blueberry and almond. Drink through 2023.

Tasted from magnum, the 2015 Sicilia Nero d'Avola Vrucara is a dark and penetrating wine with a chiseled and pungent side that delivers dried cherry and blackberry preserves. There is a point of ripeness, maybe even jammy cherry with lots of inky dark fruit. I knocked off a point or two compared to the previous edition because I am less a fan of that ripeness. You get cherry liqueur or cherry syrup sweetness on the close. However, this remains one of the benchmark bottles for Sicily's banner grape Nero d'Avola.

Made with organically farmed Nero d'Avola, this offers compelling aromas of mature dark-skinned berry, new leather and underbrush. The savory, structured palate delivers ripe black cherry, star anise and crushed mint set alongside lithe, polished tannin's and fresh acidity. Enjoy through 2025.

This opens with heady scents of honeysuckle and tropical fruit and a whiff of Mediterranean brush. The racy, refreshing palate doles out yellow peach, pineapple and grapefruit alongside a saline note.

I am reminded of the wind-swept waves of grass you see when you look over the beautiful expanse of this property in inland Sicily. The 2018 Sicilia Grillo Timpa is a balanced and fresh white wine that delivers equal parts citrus, fruit and sharp mineral intensity. Then, you get that attractive smell of freshly cut wild grasses.

This is my first taste of an Inzolia-based wine from Fabio Sireci. The 2018 Sicilia Inzolia Fornelli (made with organic fruit) offers aromas of white flower and lemon blossom with white peach and honeydew melon at the back. There is a subtle touch of latex or natural rubber that gives the wine a beautiful sense of gloss and shine. The finish is laced with honey-like flavors.

Opening to a pretty pale-pink color, the 2018 Sicilia Nerello Mascalese Rose di Adele is a delicate and fine wine with aromas of wild raspberry, violets and Sicilian almond blossom. This is a compact and lean wine with a steely and linear finish. Pair this Southern Italian rosato with spicy curry shrimp.

The 2018 Sicilia Nero d'Avola Lagnusa is a well-proportioned expression of this native Sicilian grape that shows equal parts primary intensity with blackberry and cherry contrasted against subtle earthy tones. This is Sicily's Nero d'Avola in all its naked glory. Pair this wine with veal involtini.

Bright deep red with an orange rim. The nose really opens with aeration to offer sweet red plum, dehydrated red cherry, cinnamon and raisins. Then similar flavors to the aromas lifted by juicy, harmonious acidity. Finishes very long and suave with saline nuances and repeating notes of raisins. Luminous golden-orange. Aromas of orange blossom, grapefruit oil, crystallized papaya. Then at once sweet and salty, with orange marmalade and lemon peel flavors complicated by hints of crème brulée. Finishes long, lusciously sweet and creamy but without quite the lift of this estate’s marvelous Passito Rosso. This is a blend of air-dried Catarratto Lucido and Grillo and aged in wood barrels for seven months and then twelve months in bottle prior to going on sale.

Fabio Sireci farms one of the most beautiful vineyard spots in Italy that overlooks an infinite expanse of vines and shifting waves of grain over softly rolling hills in inland Sicily. Deep ruby-red. Perfumed aromas of red cherry, raspberry, sweet spices, and fresh flowers. Clean, suave and round, ripe red cherry and vanilla flavors are complicated by hints of grilled nuts and marzipan. Finishes very clean, not to mention juicy, on the very long, very bright back end.

Bright straw color. The aromas of peach and herbs recall those of the 2017 Catarratto and 2017 Inzolia from Feudo Montoni. By contrast, it is much richer and spicier on the palate than those two wines, with pungent flavors of melon, candied grapefruit peel and lychee. Closes with noteworthy salinity and vibrancy. Luminous straw yellow. Delicate aromas of lemon, lime, sage and minty herbs. With aeration a note of Moscato Bianco-like orange blossom, grapefruit and sweet spices emerge. Fresh and juicy, with very good vibrancy to the flavors of fresh citrus fruits and minty herbs. The finish is long and juicy, offering a hint of powdered rocks on the tail end.
