    • This wine is dedicated to Valter Fissore’s grandfather, Eugenio, who had a vineyard named Montegrilli in the Roero area of the Langhe.

    • Location: In the mid-hill region of Ravera
    • Cultivation: 100% organic (not yet certified)
    • Size: 1 hectare (2.47 acres)
    • Vine Age: Average of 10-15 years
    • Soil: Limestone and clay
    • Elevation: 300 meters (984 feet)
    • Exposure: Southern
    • Density: 4,000 vines/hectare (1,619 vines/acre)
    • Training: Vertical trellising, Guyot pruning
  • Vintage Report

    • A cold winter without excess, but with a good amount of snow, was followed by a rainy and very humid February and March. Budbreak was delayed due to the wet weather. Fortunately, June, July and August were warm and dry. No irrigation is necessary in our vineyards. Autumn was dry and windy, a perfect season, with harvest delayed an average of 7 to 10 days compared to the norm.

    • Fermentation: 100% in stainless steel fermenters with 7-10 days skin contact, temperature-controlled, automatic pump-overs; 100% with indigenous yeast

  • Tasting Notes

    • Deep ruby red in color with a slightly orange edge. Harmonious, well-balanced aroma, a pleasant synthesis of floral, fruity and soft spicy scents, with a finish of rose, violet and vanilla. Fresh, lively bouquet, with harmonious acids, tannins and alcohol. Soft, elegant and full-bodied with a very long finish. Redolent of freshly macerated red berries, raspberry and red currant.
      Serving Suggestions: At 18 C (64 F) with robust roasts and hard, mature cheese
      Aging Potential: 5-7 years
